Traditional Guitar (Age 7- Adult)

I begin teaching traditional guitar students at age 7.

I use my own method, which is influenced by the Kodaly system of music education. Over 20 years I have developed a method that combines classical a folk guitar styles and technique to teach reading musical notation, chords.

Students who complete my first book demonstrate proper seating position, placement of right and left hands, reading music notation for all six strings in the first position on the guitar, be confident in right hand rest stroke and begin basic free stroke with arpeggios and basic strumming chords to folk songs.

Students have performance opportunities once per semester. I take adult students of all levels in classical guitar. I use methods by Charles Duncan, Julio Sagreras and Frederick Noad.
