Biography

Brent Weaver has been teaching guitar for over 30 years. His principal teachers were John Majors, Rey de la Torre, Alan Johnston and Jim Flegel.  He has a master degree in Kodaly music education from Holy Names University and a bachelors degree in guitar from California State University Sacramento. He began teaching Suzuki guitar in 2006 and has completed training in Books 1-6 with Andrea Canon and David Madsen. He has been a faculty member at MacPhail Center for Music since 1996 where he teaches in the traditional guitar, Suzuki guitar and Early Childhood music. Brent is also on the board of the Minnesota Guitar Society where he was Artistic Director of the MGS Youth Guitarathon from 2006-2010.
